The Victoire took home the win on Wednesday, May 20, beating the Ottawa Charge 4-0 in Game 4 of the PWHL Finals to win the Walter Cup. After the final whistle blew, Poulin, 35, got the chance to share the win with her wife and cherished teammate.
After being presented with the sought-after Walter Cup, Poulin and Stacey, the team’s 32-year-old forward, were seen hugging while smiling ear-to-ear. View this post on Instagram The two have been together for more than seven years, according to The Athletic . “We’re relatively private people in the first place, so we didn’t really feel the need to share that side of our life,” Stacey told the outlet about initially keeping their relationship out of the public eye.
“But there were also hockey reasons. Marie was the captain of the team, and I was still trying to find my place as a player," she continued, adding, "then when the PWHL started coming together, there were questions about whether we wanted people to know we were teammates in a relationship. ” The couple publicly announced their engagement on Instagram in May 2023, when Stacey shared a video showing off her ring with a caption saying, “You•Me•Oui•Forever,” along with a red heart emoji.
The two were married in September 2024, per CBC Sports . Poulin, widely considered to be one of the best women's hockey player of all time, led Stacey and their teammates to the victory on Wednesday night after overcoming a heartbreaking overtime loss to the U. S.
