Penn State whiffs on another four star running back
Penn State missed out on four-star running back Gary Walker, who committed to Clemson, but other top recruits are visiting.
While Penn State has one four star running back already in their recruiting class, they missed out on another yesterday as they try to build up their running back room from scratch. The No. 7 overall running back in the class, Gary Walker, decided to commit to Clemson despite him having a slew of official visits lined up over the next month and a half, including with the Nittany Lions .
While Walker certainly was not a priority after the Blua and White secured four-star Aiden Gibson , Walker certainly would have elevated the profile of this new look RB room. He is just as physical as the two running backs the program already have on board and his 1,669 yards and 20 touchdowns last season in high school is further proof of his college ready skill set. After an unofficial visit with the school in spring, Walker even went so far as to say Penn State was near the top of his list.
Now however, the Nittany Lions need to pivot for further insurance to their two recruits in the backfield. Luckily for them, decisions on that from are about to be made. David Segarra, the No.
6 back in the country, has scheduled an official visit for next month, as well as three-star prospect Javarris Warner. Perhaps it will be deja vu all over again, this time in a more positive manner than with Walker.
