Wide receiver Keenan Allen remains a free agent after a productive 2025 season with the Chargers.

On a recent episode of The Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams , Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz addressed the possibility of re-signing veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen. Adams teased Hortiz about a past comment, joking that he had โ€œliedโ€ about Allen returning last year. At the time, Hortiz essentially indicated it was not happening.

However, a few months later, Allen did sign with the Chargers for the 2025 season after a lone stint with the Bears . Hortiz responded openly about the current situation. โ€œIโ€™ve had some communications with Keenanโ€™s representation, and you know, we talk...

Right now, the guys that we have here, weโ€™re letting them grow and develop. Nothing but love for Keenan and that door is not closed. โ€ Hortiz emphasized giving young receivers on the roster opportunities to develop while keeping flexibility.

He expressed continued respect and affection for Allen, who returned to Los Angeles in 2025 and amassed 81 catches for 777 yards and 4 touchdowns. While no deal is imminent, Hortiz made it clear the team has not ruled out bringing back the six-time Pro Bowler.
