Oregon Ducks to face St. John's in Players Era 16 bracket
Oregon's first matchup in the Players Era tournament during the week of Thanksgiving has been announced.
The brackets are set for the Players Era tournaments. The Oregon Ducks are scheduled to participate in the 16-team bracket during the week of Thanksgiving, and they will compete alongside several big brands and championship-contending programs. Oregon will be tossed in the deep end after a 12-20 season last year.
The expectations are that the Ducks will improve this season, but there is a question as to how high their ceiling is. The Ducks will get some answers right away when they take on St. John's in the first round of the Players Era 16 bracket on November 24.
The Johnnies made it to the Sweet 16 in the 2026 NCAA Tournament , led by coach Rick Pitino. They have had to replace some lost talent in the transfer portal as well, while also bringing in talented recruits. The Johnnies brought in four-star center Theo Edema, a 7-footer who reclassified to 2026.
They are also going to be relying on Syracuse transfer forward Donnie Freeman to help dominate in the paint as a scorer. Depending on how the Ducks fare in the game against St. John's, Oregon could set up a reunion matchup with Jackson Shelstad , who transferred out of the program this offseason.
