Badgers looking to flip four star commit, but face steep competition
The Badgers are pushing hard to flip a four star cornerback in May.

One of those recruitments is that of four-star cornerback Mekhi Williams, who is currently committed to the Florida State Seminoles.
Williams, who stands 6’3, 160 pounds, has room to grow out into his frame, and fits what the Badgers want on the boundary with his height and length. So, naturally, he’s getting quite a bit of competition heading into the summer in his recruitment. The four-star committed to Florida State back in March, but programs like Wisconsin and the LSU Tigers have remained top competitors for the defensive back.
The Badgers will get the first official visit for Williams next weekend. That’ll be followed by Florida State, with LSU getting him on campus during the weekend of June 19th. Wisconsin is looking to add to its cornerback room, with a couple of recruits scheduled for official visits now.
Williams would certainly be a take, but as we’ve seen in the current era of recruiting, things become tougher during official visits once a recruit leaves campus to head elsewhere. When it’s all said and done, we’ll see if Wisconsin can beat out these two schools with strong pockets. But they’re pushing hard here this month, as they hope for a flip and a big addition to their cornerback room in the 2027 class.
