Arkansas baseball's Kuhio Aloy needs surgery to repair a broken hamate bone in his hand. He suffered the injury during the Hogs win over Tennessee.

Arkansas baseball junior Kuhio Aloy will undergo surgery later this week to repair a broken hamate bone, a school spokesperson confirmed to the Southwest Times Record. There is a chance Aloy could return this season if the Hogs advance deep into the NCAA Tournament. WholeHogSports first reported Aloy's impending surgery.

Aloy sustained the injury during the bottom of the third in the No. 7 Razorbacks (37-19) second-round win over No. 10 Tennessee (38-19) on Wednesday, May 20.

Aloy swung at a pitch from Tennessee starter Henry Blanco, but his front hand came off the bat. Coach Dave Van Horn and head trainer Corey Wood came out to check on Aloy, and after a brief discussion, Arkansas ' designated hitter was removed from the game. Dave Van Horn said he thinks the injury happened during Aloy's previous at-bat in the first inning.
