NBA scouts, executives believe Caleb Wilson could be best in NBA Draft
Despite not receiving votes for the No. 1 pick, NBA executives still see high potential in Caleb Wilson for the 2026 Draft.
Caleb Wilson may not be the consensus No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft , but executives still see star potential in the North Carolina forward. In a poll conducted by The Athletic , 13 NBA executives and scouts were asked who they believe should be the top pick, which belongs to the Washington Wizards .
Of those 13, 10 were willing to name a player for the No. 1 spot. AJ Dybantsa received seven votes, Darryn Peterson garnered two, and one vote went to Cameron Boozer.
Wilson did not receive a single vote. That result says more about the strength of this draft class than it does about Wilson’s game. This group has been billed as one of the most hyped classes in NBA history, with multiple prospects drawing No.
1 consideration depending on team need and philosophy. One executive told The Athletic that what separates Dybantsa from Wilson right now is Dybantsa’s “ability to handle the basketball in traffic. ” As a bigger on-ball creator, Dybantsa has shown the kind of perimeter skill set teams often covet in a franchise cornerstone.
