Former Dolphins WR finds new home, signs with NFC North squad

Yahoo Sports

While we're past the early waves of free agency, there are a few former Miami Dolphins still finding new teams for the 2026 season.

The NFL offseason is chugging along, with every team working on their practice fields with the first wave of free agency and the draft in the rearview, but that doesn't mean players won't find news homes. In fact, one former Miami Dolphins player did just that on Wednesday, as wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. signed a deal with the Detroit Lions .

Wilson, 30, spent four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, two with the Dolphins and two with the New Orleans Saints before returning to Miami last year. In 40 games over three seasons with the Dolphins he recorded 39 receptions for 476 yards and three touchdowns. In his career, he's caught 126 passes for 1,524 yards and 12 touchdowns.

While Miami doesn't exactly have the deepest wide receiver room, they probably didn't need Wilson around in 2026 for anything other than a veteran presence. However, Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell could provide that.
