Bryant Wesco one of the best in the country? Greg McElroy makes the case
ESPN analyst Greg McElroy recently broke down his top wide receivers in college football heading into 2026, with a Clemson player being mentioned.
National expectations remain high for Clemson wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. entering the 2026 season, even after last year’s injury cut short what was shaping up to be a breakout campaign. While discussing the top receivers in college football, ESPN analyst Greg McElroy stopped just short of putting the Clemson standout inside his preseason top 10.
Still, McElroy made it clear Wesco is firmly in that conversation if he stays healthy this fall. “If he’s healthy, by all means, this guy has top-10 potential,” McElroy said. “No doubt about it.
” The former freshman All-American was putting together one of the best starts by a receiver in the country before suffering a season-ending back injury midway through 2025. Through six games, Wesco totaled 537 yards and six touchdowns while emerging as one of Dabo Swinney’s top offensive weapons. McElroy pointed to Wesco’s early production at Clemson as proof the talent has never been in question.
“As a true freshman, he was terrific,” McElroy said. “He became the fourth player in Clemson history to post 1,000 receiving yards in just the first 15 games of his career. ” That milestone placed Wesco alongside former Clemson stars Sammy Watkins, Artavis Scott and Justyn Ross.
