ESPN analyst selects Jaguars 'worst' offseason move

An ESPN analyst selected what he believes is the "worst" offseason move by the Jaguars.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell highlighted his favorite move made by the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason, along with what he believes was GM James Gladstone's worst move. And like many others, Barnwell was not a fan of the Jaguars ' 2026 NFL draft class. Relative to the consensus big boards out there, many of the Jaguars' selections were considered "reaches.

" "With the exception of third-round guard Emmanuel Pregnon , who was taken 39 picks after Miller/Reid had him ranked, every other Jags pick across the first five rounds of the draft came off the board way earlier than expectation," wrote Barnwell. Below is a look at where each Jaguars draft pick was taken relative to their ranking on Arif Hasan's all-encompassing consensus big board. Pick 56: TE Nate Boerkircher (163) Pick 81: DT Albert Regis (150) Pick 88: OL Emmanuel Pregnon (41) Pick 100: DB Jalen Huskey (187) Pick 119: DE Wesley Williams (236) Pick 164; TE Tanner Koziol (153) Pick 191: WR Josh Cameron (159) Pick 203: WR CJ Williams (Unranked) Pick 233: DE Zach Durfee (Unranked) Pick 240: LB Parker Hughes (Unranked) That said, the Jaguars do not care about what the outside world's consensus big boards say.

All that matters is following their own internal consensus rankings. "It's about our consensus," Coen said during rookie minicamp . "Character matters.

Personal and football character matters and the mental, the learning, how much they can take in a short period of time to get on the grass and be able to play. I wouldn't say either of our offensive and defensive systems are "easy," and so we do value players that can do different things and can mentally play the game fast. " Gladstone prioritizes finding players who can contribute right away, just as the LA Rams do.
