Inland Lakes softball extended its winning streak to 14 games, sweeping Oscoda on Wednesday, while many other area teams were in action.

OSCODA — The Inland Lakes softball team is on a massive tear right now. The Bulldogs remained scorching hot by earning 7-6 and 15-1 victories in a non-conference sweep at Oscoda on Wednesday, May 20. In the opener, Inland Lakes was spearheaded offensively by Khali Woollard, who recorded two hits (double) and two RBIs, while Alexis Powell added two hits. Laikyn Fenstermaker (two RBIs), Kennadi O’Boyle, Alexys Langworthy and Taylor Nutt recorded a hit apiece. Carper was I-L's winning pitcher, striking out 10 and scattering five hits.

Adi Fenstermaker continued her impressive offensive stretch by ripping three hits – a triple and two doubles – and collecting five RBIs in the nightcap. Powell helped with two hits and an RBI. Carper (triple, RBI), O’Boyle (double, RBI), Nutt (RBI), Woollard (double), Langworthy, Makayla Temple and Kalli Williamson chipped in with a hit apiece.

Carper struck out five batters and allowed three hits to earn the pitching win. “Two really great games against a good Oscoda team,” Inland Lakes coach Krissi Thompson said. “I’m super proud of the way the girls are finishing up their season.
