Arsenal back in training after day off to celebrate league title win
Arsenal players assembled for their first training session as Premier League champions ahead of Sunday’s victory parade at Crystal Palace. The Gunners ended their 22-year wait for the title after rivals Manchester City could only draw at Bournemouth on Tuesday night. The players were given Wednesday off before returning to their London Colney training base on Thursday.
Bukayo Saka, David Raya and William Saliba were absent from the group session as they focused on individual training programmes, while Jurrien Timber, who has been sidelined for the past two months with a groin problem, was also absent. Year 11 student Max Dowman was also missing as he completes his GCSEs. Mikel Artea’s side will lift the Premier League trophy at Selhurst Park ahead of their Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain six days later.
Arteta is due to speak publicly for the first time since Arsenal won the title later on Thursday.
