The Chargers selected WR Brenen Thompson in the fourth round of the NFL draft. What is his fantasy outlook, and how might he impact his WR teammates?

The Los Angeles Chargers selected WR Brenen Thompson in the fourth round of the NFL draft. What is his realistic 2026 fantasy outlook, and how might his presence impact Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and Tre Harris? Sometimes, NFL general managers fall in love with speed too much.

As with any physical trait, it can take a player only so far (literally and figuratively). Three years ago, the Chargers selected Derius Davis in the fourth round. He was the second-fastest wideout in that draft class, behind only Trey Palmer.

In this yearโ€™s class, no one is faster than Thompson. Davis and Thompson are now teammates on a squad with the three pretty cemented starters. McConkey (WR21 ADP) is a fascinating high-upside receiver who was inexplicably overvalued last summer.

Johnston is a strong buy at his WR46 ADP; he was the WR26 in points per game last year and seems unlikely to faceplant. Harris is a nothing-to-lose add-on at his WR75 ADP; last yearโ€™s second-round rookie possesses the talent to take a sizable Year 2 leap. Back to Thompson: Another concern is that he collected only 84 receptions in college.
