And everyone was still watching when the Ravens pulled out of the deal with the Las Vegas Raiders , citing a failed physical. That generated all the headlines, but an unintended consequence flew under the radar. It took multiple days for all the Crosby physical stuff to get handled.
And in the meantime, the Ravens lost a number of key contributors. They went from having a bunch of money and resources tied into Crosby to not having that, except they couldn't go back in time and change their approach to those few days. ESPN's Bill Barnwell wondered in a new article on Thursday just how different Baltimore's offseason might've looked if the Crosby situation didn't take so long to resolve.
"A lot of talent walked out the door in Baltimore before Crosby's physical was annulled," Barnwell writes, "including Tyler Linderbaum, Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar. Could the Ravens have kept some of those players had they resolved the Crosby situation before the legal negotiating period began?
