The Charlotte Hornets are in the midst of a successful rebuild, seeing on-court success while they stockpile future assets.

The Charlotte Hornets put together an incredible 2025-26 campaign, improving their win total by 25 wins from a season prior and finishing ninth in the Eastern Conference. Now as their offseason continues, the Hornets will be looking to maximize their assets to build on their current momentum. In a recent asset ranking by Bobby Marks of ESPN, the former Brooklyn Nets assistant general manager ranked the Hornets No.

1. Marks cited Charlotte's two first-round selections in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft as key assets, in addition to three potential first-round picks in next year's draft. One of those potential first-round picks would come from the Dallas Mavericks , in the previous PJ Washington deal that sent Grant Williams to Charlotte.

After finishing 12th in the Western Conference last season, there's reason to believe that selection could be a high lottery pick. With all of these assets at their disposal, the Hornets are in prime position to make a big swing sooner or later.
