Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano were both called into the French national team by Didier Deschamps and both figure to be key players on a squad that is widely regarded as a favorite to win this summer’s tournament.

Olise has had an electric season so far as he has tallied 22 goals and 30 assists in 51 games across all competitions. Meanwhile, Upamecano was Bayern Munich’s top center-back during this campaign and should be a vital figure on France’s backline. After a season where Vincent Kompany relied heavily on Upamecano, the Frenchman will have to find a second wind as he has tallied 3,251 minutes at center-back.

France will participate in Group I with Senegal, Iraq, and Norway. In particular, the Norway game should be one to keep an eye on. Yes, France is the better, deeper team, but Norway’s Erling Haaland is a handful for an club to deal with.
