It is believed that United want to bring in at least two, possibly three, midfielders to play in the middle of the park. The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell reports that progress is being made “on personal terms with players so United can understand the full costs of potential moves and then press ahead depending on the configuration that makes tactical and financial sense.
