Jersey has been host to Supertri on five previous occasions [Supertri/Supertri. com] Jersey will host the Supertri Pro Series Final on 6 September. The culmination of the global triathlon event will see some of the world's best triathletes compete on a course around the island with a $800,000 (£595,000) prize fund at stake.

It is the sixth time that the global triathlon event has had an event in Jersey with some of the world's best competing on a course around the St Helier Waterfront. Hungary's Csongor Lehmann and Luxembourg's Jeanne Lehair won the men's and women's races at last year's event. "This is a huge year for Supertri, as we truly unify professional and amateur racing and grow the sport of triathlon," Supertri's chief executive Michael D'hulst said.

"Our new Pro Series is the very pinnacle of short course racing with the sport's superstars ready to come to Jersey to fight for the biggest one-day prize purse in the sport in 2026. "We consider Jersey to be the spiritual home of Supertri, so we can't think of anywhere more fitting to host the Supertri Pro Series Final this year. " There will be three Pro Series events before the final round in Jersey and Olympic champions Alex Yee and Cassandre Beaugrand have confirmed they will race in the event on the island.

"Our island has quickly become a popular destination within the Supertri series, and much of that success comes down to the strong connection the athletes build with our community whenever they visit," Jersey Sport chief executive David Kennedy added. "The event is always an opportunity to show off Jersey at its best to the world of sport, and to inspire people locally by bringing world-class competition right to our doorstep. "We look forward to building on the success of previous years and once again creating lasting experiences for both participants and spectators across the island.
