Fans React as Lane Kiffin Rehires Ed Orgeron to LSU Coaching Staff
Lane Kiffin. © Imagn LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin is once again in the news after he rehired Ed Orgeron to his coaching staff. Orgeron will serve as special assistant to recruiting and defense, said Kiffin.
Orgeron was LSU’s head coach for nearly six years. In 2019, he led the Tigers to the national championship with a 15-0 mark. He departed after the 2021 season.
Previously, Kiffin and Orgeron worked together at both the University of Southern California and the University of Tennessee. Therefore, the hiring makes sense as Kiffin is assumed to be in good terms with the former LSU head coach. “I’m excited to bring Coach Orgeron back to LSU,” Kiffin said .
“He brings us tremendous value with his ability to recruit elite players nationally, but especially the impact he can have for us recruiting the great state of Louisiana. Coach O understands my expectations and commitment to being a championship program. I look forward to seeing him with recruits and his intensity working with our defensive players.
