Freeman nominated for Prem and England men's awards
Northampton Saints wing Tommy Freeman is nominated for both the Prem and England men's player of the season awards.
Northampton Saints' Tommy Freeman has been nominated for Prem rugby and England men's player of the season awards. The 25-year-old, who can play on the wing and at centre for club and country, is on the shortlist for the England award alongside Leicester duo Ollie Chessum and Joe Heyes and Saracens' Ben Earl. Meg Jones, who captained the Red Roses to their eighth successive Six Nations title last weekend, is nominated for England women's player of the year alongside Amy Cokayne, Zoe Harrison and Sadia Kabeya.
The winners will be announced at the Rugby Awards in London on Wednesday, 10 June, which will be broadcast on TNT Sports and HBO Max for the first time. Freeman has scored 17 tries in 16 games for Prem leaders Saints this season, plus a further three tries for England in the Six Nations. He is joined on the Prem player of the season list by Leicester fly-half Billy Searle, Bath scrum-half Ben Spencer and Saracens number eight Tom Willis, who is departing the London club this summer.
Saracens' teenage wing Noah Caluori features on the Prem breakthrough player of the season list, days after being included in England's training squad ahead of the first tranche of Nations Championship matches in July. Northampton duo Archie McParland and Edoardo Todaro, plus Bath hooker Kepu Tuipulotu, join Calouri among the breakthrough nominees. The Prem's current top four teams provide the contenders for the director of rugby category with Phil Dowson (Northampton), Johann van Graan (Bath), Geoff Parling (Leicester) and Rob Baxter (Exeter) all nominated.

Dan Murphy, who took over at league leaders Gloucester-Hartpury this season and has so far steered them to an unbeaten campaign, is nominated for PWR director of rugby alongside Alex Austerberry (Saracens), Tom Hudson (Sale) and Barney Maddison (Trailfinders). Winners will also be announced for the Prem and PWR try of the season awards at London's Old Billingsgate venue on 10 June.
