But finding that winger at a reasonable price isn't going to be easy. Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola have both been heavily linked with moves to Anfield, though at price tags approaching €100m. Liverpool may not want to take that sort of gamble.
But there is a door opening for a Premier League winger. Brentford are reportedly in the market for a new star, and Sport Bild claims they're ready to pay around €50m for Said El Mala of KC Koln. It's an awful lot of money for a teenager and an interesting deal.
If only because it suggests Kevin Schade is available. Both play in the same position and it's difficult to believe that Brentford would go all-out on the Koln star if he wasn't going to be a starter. Nor do we believe he'd make the move there without assurances over playing time.
