MURFREEBORO — The TSSAA postponed the remainder of the TSSAA softball state tournament games for May 20. This is the second straight year, games have been pushed back at least a day because of weather. Last year's opening day was washed out.
State tournament games in baseball, softball and boys soccer were able to finish on May 19 but hit a snag the following day as rain and Thunderstorms caused a nearly three-hour delay in the early afternoon of May 20. More rain pushed through the area late in the evening as a handful of Division I baseball games played late into the night. The state softball tournament schedule has been revamped with one Division II-A state championship game scheduled for May 21 and DII-AA title games on Friday.
Division I state championship games in the four classifications are scheduled to be played on Saturday. The Division II-A final is schedule for 4 p. m.
(CT) on May 21 at MTSU. However, the if-necessary game would be played the following day at 1:30 p. m.
