Gibratlar Carlson's record-setting Farago sisters spark victory over Jeffeson-Erie Mason in opening round of state soccer tournament.

GIBRALTAR – The sisters kept pace with each other and the Marauders kept rolling. Jillian and Josi Farago each scored a pair of goals as Gibraltar Carlson’s girls soccer team extended its winning streak to 17 games by beating Jefferson-Erie Mason in 8-1 in the opening round of the Division 2 state tournament on Wednesday, May 20. “We’re having a really good season,” Carlson coach Riley Hogan said.

“They are always a threat. Other teams have to find a way to defend against them. ” Morgan Kwiatkowski also scored twice with McKenna Belcher and Natalie MacBride netted the other goals.

Josi Farago and Juliana Guzman recorded two assists each with Jillian Farago, Belcher and Ella Roll were credited with one each. Addy Wallace led the defense. This is Hogan’s second year as head coach of the Marauders, whose 17-1 team have not lost a game since the season opener.
