With regular season winding down, here's who won Wednesday's games

Tennis playoffs have started, and the rest will be here in a couple days as the regular-season wraps up. Here's your Wednesday results.

🥎Game of the Day Softball playoffs won’t start for a couple more days, but Lincoln showed it’s more than ready for the postseason. The Lions knew Ponaganset was better than it records shows and when adversity struck, they managed to strike back. The Chieftains added some drama to an intense pitchers’ duel with a seventh-inning home run that sent the game to extra innings, but Lincoln came through in the eighth as Annika Sampson ’s double brought home what proved to be the winning run in the Lions’ 2-1 victory over the Chieftains.

Lincoln got out to a 1-0 lead after Chloe Landry reached on a one-out double, moved to third on an error and scored on another misplayed ball. The pitchers were stars of the show after that. For the first four innings, Lincoln’s Molly Ganim dueled with Ponaganset’s Mattea Mello .

The Lions then handed the ball to Kayleigh Gouchie , who also traded zeroes with Mello. Lincoln had a no-hitter going through six innings before Claire Barrett ended it with a solo home run to open the bottom of the seventh. Gouchie rebounded to strike out the next three batters, sending the game to extras.
