Mavs' Flagg, Hornets' Knueppel headline NBA All-Rookie first team
Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg, Hornets guard Kon Knueppel and 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe headlined the NBA All-Rookie first team unveiled on Wednesday.
Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg, Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel and Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe headlined the NBA All-Rookie first team announced on Wednesday. Flagg, Knueppel and Edgecombe were unanimous first-team selections, earning 100 votes from a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. Flagg (19 years, 112 days) is the second-youngest player to earn a first-team selection, trailing only LeBron James (19 years, 106 days).
The three lead vote-getters comprised the finalists for Rookie of the Year, which saw Flagg defeat Knueppel by a 26-point margin on April 27 , the second-smallest since the current voting format began (2002). Edgecombe finished with 96 total points. A global media panel of 100 voters selected the 2025-26 Kia NBA All-Rookie Team.

Harper garnered 93 first-team votes, while Coward received 29 from the media panel. New Orleans Pelicans center Derik Queen, Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud, Pelicans guard Jeremiah Fears, Utah Jazz forward Ace Bailey and Toronto Raptors center Collin Murray-Boyles were named to the All-Rookie second team. Murray-Boyles, who finished with 66 voting points, held a sizeable lead over Hornets center Ryan Kalkbrenner for the final spot on the second team.
