Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs were something of a wake-up call for the other 28 ball clubs in the NBA. With what we saw from star Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama (and in the face of what the Thunder put together behind freshly-crowned 2026 NBA Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander), a lot of front offices are shifting gears when it comes to building a contender.
