Iowa baseball falls to Michigan State in Big Ten Tournament

The  Iowa baseball  team lost to Michigan State, 4-3, in its second game of the Big Ten Tournament in Omaha on May 20. The loss drops the Hawkeyes to 1-1 at the Big Ten Tournament this week. Ben Swails led Iowa 's offense with a 3-for-4 outing at the dish, accounting for nearly half of the Hawkeyes' seven hits.

The redshirt junior had two singles and a double and also scored two runs. No other Hawkeye had more than one hit on the afternoon. On the bump, Kyle Alivo went 5.

2 innings and gave up seven hits and one earned runs while striking out seven Spartans . Justin Hackett pitched 2. 1 innings of relief and gave up zero hits, but walked three batters and gave up an earned run.
