The first one is Patrick Mahomes and his recovery from an ACL injury. With Mahomes stating he wants a Week 1 return, it does feel like he's up against to an extent to be fully healthy by then. The other is Rashee Rice.
After another offseason incident, according to reports, that could see him face some jail time, and again, not being available for the Chiefs. And Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano offered up a hard-hitting question. Should the Chiefs cut ties with Rice?
“The Chiefs might be asking themselves whether the off-the-field headaches involving Rice are worth keeping him around,” Manzano wrote . “Last year, Rice was suspended the first six games of the season due to his high-speed, hit-and-run crash in 2024. “On Tuesday, reports emerged of Rice violating his probation and he now faces 30 days in jail, which could force him to be away from the team again during offseason practices.
