They've signed the running back Salvon Ahmed on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz . "Ahmed suffered a serious and gruesome ankle injury on a hip-drop tackle during practice last year and has worked hard to get back," Schultz wrote with the news on X. "He now gets this opportunity in Chicago.

" Ahmed is still just 27 years old, and he previously showed promise. He was an undrafted player out of Washington who first signed with the Miami Dolphins . In 2020, he ran 75 times for 319 yards (4.

3 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes for 61 yards. In 2021, he went 54 carries for 149 yards with 12 catches for 117 yards.
