Todd Monken reveals where Shedeur Sanders' has improved the most during Cleveland Browns' spring workouts. Deshaun Watson continues to impress at OTAs.

Not much has changed in the Cleveland Browns quarterback competition at this stage of the offseason program. At least not according to head coach Todd Monken. Cleveland's new head man fielded plenty of quarterback questions on Wednesday following the second day of the team's first week of organized team activities (aka OTAs).

The collection of quarterbacks that includes veteran Deshaun Watson, second year guys Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel and rookie Taylen Green continued to rotate at the position throughout the various periods of practice. It was Watson and Sanders, though, who continue to stand out as the first two QBs in the pecking order, with each receiving some reps with the first team. There were no new real updates to the situation.

However Monken did take a moment to highlight the two clear frontrunners for the job after practice. Asked if there's anything that's surprised him about the Browns QBs now that he's working with them more regularly, Monken praised Sanders in particular for making some major breakthroughs in his development. "I think Shedeur's come miles in terms of his progressions, getting the ball out, his understanding of concepts," said Monken.

"I think he's really, really come a long way. " For Monken to call that out publicly is notable. Sanders' rookie campaign came with plenty of ups and downs across seven starts and eight total appearances.
