Nets' Egor Demin doesn't make either of the NBA All-Rookie Teams
The Brooklyn Nets drafted five rookies in the 2025 NBA Draft, but one of them, Egor Demin, did not make either of the NBA All-Rookie Teams.
Brooklyn Nets rookie guard Egor Demin was the first of five players that the Nets selected in the 2025 NBA Draft last June and he was put in a position to show what he could do early in the season. Demin had some struggles along the way as Brooklyn sought to give him as much experience as he could handle, but it looks like he didn't make either of the NBA All-Rookie teams. On Wednesday, the NBA announced the two All-Rookie teams for the 2025-26 season, but Demin did not make either of those teams and didn't look like he came close enough to doing so.
The All-Rookie First Team comprised of Cedric Coward of the Memphis Grizzlies, VJ Edgecombe of the Philadelphia 76ers, Cooper Flagg of the Dallas Mavericks, Dylan Harper of the San Antonio Spurs, and Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets. The All-Rookie Second Team was made up of Ace Bailey of the Utah Jazz, Jeremiah Fears of the New Orleans Pelicans , Collin Murray-Boyles of the Toronto Raptors, Derik Queen of the Pelicans, and Maxime Raynaud of the Sacramento Kings. As is typical with every award, the NBA posted the voting results and Demin managed to get two votes for the second team, but that was it.
For those that have been keeping up with those that cover the league, Demin not making either of the All-Rookie Teams is not that surprising given that two of the voters did not have place him as receiving of the honor. Nathan Grubel of No Ceilings, who did not have an official vote, placed Demin among the honorable mentions, but that explains why Demin placed outside of the top-10. Demin, 20 , ended his rookie season averaging 10.
