Contract incentives for Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers revealed

Yahoo Sports

Aaron Rodgers signed a one-year contract with the Steelers that contains $2.5 million in incentives, all tied to playoff win.

On Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off OTAs and they did it with quarterback Aaron Rodgers under contract. Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Steelers for a second straight offseason and this time around he got himself a massive raise. The contract is $22 million guaranteed with a total value of around $25 million.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, Rodgers has four different performance-based incentives, all centered around the Steelers winning playoff games with Rodgers under center. According to Schultz, if he plays 75% of the regular season snaps, he can earn the following: $625K for a Wild Card win$625K for a Divisional Round win$625K for an AFC Championship win$625K for a Super Bowl win Last season, Rodgers led the Steelers to a 10-6 record as the starter and won the AFC North. But none of that mattered when Rodgers fell flat against the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the playoffs and Pittsburgh got blown out.

Even without the incentives, Rodgers got a massive raise this season but we hope that in his final NFL campaign, he finds a way to break the Steelers playoff slump. This article originally appeared on Steelers Wire: Contract incentives for Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers revealed
