The captain does not have any structural damage in the calf, but he will allegedly look at options for different maintenance tactics on his calf and lower leg moving forward per Tz journalists Philipp Kessler and Hanna Raif (as captured by @iMiaSanMia_GER ): Manuel Neuer’s calf is structurally not damaged, but it’s pinching and therefore made both a World Cup and a cup prediction hardly possible as of Wednesday.
He hasn’t been seen on the training pitch since the Cologne game. Intern, people have long been talking about a “race against time” until the final on Saturday. For the worst-case scenario, Jonas Urbig is ready to step in.
Neuer is doing everything to get fit in time. On his own initiative, he left the pitch on Saturday because he knows his left calf. Neuer’s medical team sees no direct link to his serious skiing accident; however, they are aware that his left lower leg is vulnerable.
At age 40, muscles require different care, and Neuer is eager to learn and approaches his training with a scientific mindset. Internally at Bayern, it has been agreed to make a decision before the trip to Berlin. The gist: No training, no game.
