Louisiana baseball vs Coastal Carolina delayed by rain at Sun Belt tournament
Louisiana baseball's Sun Belt Championship game against Coastal Carolina entered a rain delay with UL leading 10-7.
In the top of the seventh inning, Louisiana baseball 's second-round game against No. 24 Coastal Carolina entered a rain delay at Dabos Field in Montgomery, Alabama. The Ragin' Cajuns were taking on the Chanticleers in a double-elimination game for Day 2 of the 2026 Sun Belt Baseball Championship presented by Troy University.
It was 3:35 p. m. CT when the weather delay was announced.
UL announced on its X account that the game will resume at 4:26 p. m. with the Cajuns batting in the top of the seventh.
The Cajuns will have a runner at first base with two outs and lead-off hitter Blaze Rodriguez up to bat when play resumes. At the time of the delay, the Cajuns had retaken the lead after allowing the Chants to come back from a 7-0 deficit. UL was ready to respond after Coastal's comeback with freshman catcher Colt Brown kicking things off with a leadoff double to start the seventh inning.
