The Detroit Lions added veteran depth to their receiving corps Wednesday, May 20, signing journeyman Cedrick Wilson. Wilson caught five passes for 44 yards in 10 games for the Miami Dolphins last season. He also has had stops with the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints in his seven-year career.

The Lions return starting receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams and expect Isaac TeSlaa to emerge as their No. 3 receiver this fall.

They also signed Greg Dortch in free agency to fill Kalif Raymond's role as a backup receiver and return man and drafted Kendrick Law in the fifth round. Wilson, who turns 31 in November, will compete for a back-end roster spot with Tom Kennedy, Dominic Lovett, Jackson Meeks and Malik Cunningham. He had his best season with the Cowboys in 2021, when he caught 45 passes for 602 yards and six touchdowns.

He has 687 yards receiving and four touchdowns total in the past four seasons. Dave Birkett covers the Lions for the Detroit Free Press. Contact him at dbirkett@freepress.
