£40m midfield dynamo is coming as three find out they will be sold Big changes are coming to Liverpool’s midfield this summer. Head coach Arne Slot has been relying on the same cast of characters in midfield for the last couple of seasons. And it’s clear to see the Dutchman is now getting diminishing returns from some in the ranks.

Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have been a long way beneath their Premier League title-winning form of 2024/25. Factor in uncertain contract scenarios for Wataru Endo and Curtis Jones and you can see why midfield will become a priority area for Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes. It’s been claimed in Football Insider that the outgoing Premier League champions are planning up to THREE midfielder sales in order to accommodate new arrivals.

Endo, Mac Allister and Jones to leave Mac Allister is only contracted until 2028 and there have been no talks over a new deal. Real Madrid are big fans of the 27-year-old - who has been unable to regain his form over the past year or so. Jones, 25, is stuck at a contract impasse with his current deal expiring in 2027.

The club will be set against losing their homegrown talent for free with Inter Milan believed to be interested in the £35m-rated playmaker. And Endo, 33, is also out of contract in 2027. Currently recovering from injury he could be sold in order to generate some tidy transfer income.
