The New England Patriots announced the signing of defensive tackle Travis Shaw on Wednesday.

To make room, the organization waived long snapper Niko Lalos from the offseason roster of 91. Shaw, 21, spent three years at North Carolina and transferred to Texas ahead of the 2025 campaign. The 6-foot-5, 334-pound defensive tackle appeared in 50 games between his stops with the Tar Heels and Longhorns before going unselected in the 2026 NFL draft.

A former five-star recruit, Shaw totaled 68 tackles, including 6. 5 for loss, to go with four batted passes and two fumble recoveries over that span. His first career start arrived as a senior last fall.

Lalos, 28, signed in March following a workout. A 6-foot-5, 269-pound convert from defensive end, the Dartmouth product entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Appearing in six games through a series of transactions during his rookie year with the New York Giants, Lalos recorded six tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
