And so their summer transfer plans now involve Mourinho, who is busy picking out the kind of squad he needs. Cope reports that he wants a new defensive midfielder, for instance, and specifically Morten Hjulmand. Hjulmand, who is at Sporting CP, has been linked with clubs all over Europe.

It seems Real Madrid may push to sign him this summer, however. And that will set off alarm bells at Anfield. Liverpool may not have a strong interest in Hjulmand but they are long-term admirers of two midfielders at Real Madrid.

Both Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga have been heavily linked in the past. Tchouameni has openly talked about nearly joining the Reds back in 2022 in an interview with Le Parisien . Well, the door opens here.
