The Dallas Cowboys caught a bit of fascinating attention earlier this offseason when they signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

The speedy WR is a long-time NFL veteran who once was pretty important for the Green Bay Packers , and in a new mailbag piece on the Cowboys' official website, one fan was particularly interested in MVS winning the WR3 job for Dallas behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. There was quick pushback from the writers answering the question, though. They pointed out that Ryan Flournoy has already made his case.

"Ryan Flournoy, who is five years younger, enjoyed a breakout effort in his sophomore campaign for the Cowboys, finishing with 40 catches for 475 yards and four touchdowns a season ago," Kurt Daniels wrote . "At this point, the team clearly sees him as the first option for that third wideout spot. "We've seen flashes - especially in the Detroit game when CeeDee went down and Flournoy responded with the best performance of his career. That gave everyone a glimpse of what he can do with more opportunities. " To be fair, it's not obvious that many Cowboys fans were interested in Valdes-Scantling winning this job, but at least one was.
