Why Mississippi State baseball trolled Ole Miss at SEC Tournament
Mississippi State baseball got the chance to troll Ole Miss on social media during its second-round SEC Tournament win against Missouri.
HOOVER, AL — Mississippi State baseball had a little fun on social media regarding the new ABS challenge system in the SEC Tournament. The No. 8 seed Bulldogs beat No.
16 Missouri 12-2 on May 20 in the second round of the SEC Tournament. A new challenge system, similar to what's being used in Major League Baseball this season, is getting tested in games at the Hoover Met this week. Catchers, pitchers and hitters have the ability to challenge called balls and strikes.
On May 19, Ole Miss became the first team to utilize that feature in its 10-8 loss to Missouri. Catcher Austin Fawley challenged a called ball that was upheld on review. Ole Miss put out a graphic on social media recognizing the moment.
Ole Miss did not challenge any other balls or strikes during the game, and Missouri was successful on 7 of 9 challenges. HISTORY MADE‼️ pic. twitter.
