Don’t get too excited now. It’s just an unofficial ranking by a certain publication and it’s an opinion, not a proven fact. Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that Phoenix has been ranked No.
8 in the country among the Best Sports Cities in 2026 by Sports Business Journal, an affiliated publication of Phoenix Business Journal. That's a jump in the rankings for the Arizona capital, which was No. 10 when the previous rankings were released in 2023.
Yippee! It’s nothing to really scoff at. We should be proud that our city moved up a couple of spots in the order when it comes to how the folks at Sports Business Journal determined the best sports towns in the United States.
