Isaiah Thomas on his return to Boston Celtics as a scout

It might not have been the return to the Boston Celtics that fan-favorite point guard Isaiah Thomas initially had hoped for. But the former King in the Fourth is back in Boston as a scout, and Thomas recently related that it has been a long time coming on his "Point Game" podcast. "It's been in the works for a while, we're just trying to make sure everything made sense for both sides," said Thomas.

"(It's) something that I always wanted to do, be a part of an organization, be a part of the front office and help make these decisions that are being made down the line," he continued. "So this is a step in the right direction in terms of hopefully one day maybe being a GM or head of basketball operations or whatever the game of basketball takes me. " "But I want to be a part of the decision-making, and this is a step in that direction," shared IT.

"And the Celtics did right by me. " "They've been wanting me to do this for a while, and it was something of interest," said Thomas. "And we came to something that made sense and it and it still allowed me to be able to do these things like do our podcast, (and) coach my boys, which was very important for me" "And then also being able to still work with broadcasting and analysts and talk basketball and do all those things that I'm very passionate about.

So, I've got to give a big shout out to the Celtics, Brad Stevens, and the whole organization and wanting me to be a part of something that they've got going on. And this is only the beginning, so I'm excited. This is something I can go pro in as well, my second act in my life.

But staying around the game of basketball and doing something that I love. So, it was cool, my first, I was at the combine this past week. It was super cool to experience that on the other side, with me being a player and being able to experience that, fifteen years ago.
