Striker Königsdörffer to join Mainz from Hamburg

SV Hamburg forward Ransford Königsdörffer will join Bundesliga rivals Mainz on a free transfer in July, the two clubs announced on Wednesday. "I am very thankful for my time in Hamburg but I have decided to try something new," the 24-year-old said in a statement. Königsdörffer had been at Hamburg for four years and helped them secure promotion to the top tier in 2025.
Hamburg wanted to keep the player, who scored five goals in 33 Bundesliga games in the season just finished.
