Jeff Teague’s wild WNBA claim falls apart when comparing him to A’ja Wilson

The former NBA guard claimed he would score 100 points if he played in the WNBA, insisting he would play the full game and defenders would not be able to stay in front of him.

He also brought A’ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark into the conversation. That is where the argument starts to unravel. Teague is entitled to back himself, but using Wilson as an example only weakens his case.

Jeff Teague’s A’ja Wilson comparison weakens his own argument Photo by Chris Coduto/Getty Images Teague had a strong NBA career. He spent 12 years in the league, made an All-Star team and won a title with the Bucks. His size argument does not quite stack up.

Teague was listed at 195 pounds during his playing career, which is the same weight Wilson is listed at by Las Vegas. Wilson is not the right example if the aim is to downplay WNBA scoring. She dropped 45 points on Connecticut in May 2026, hitting 15 of 18 shots from the floor.

The 100-point claim says more about scoring reality than the WNBA The question is not whether Teague could score in the WNBA. A former NBA All-Star would obviously have advantages. The question is the number.
