Bad news keeps piling up for Chiefs after Rashee Rice surgery reveal
Chiefs star Rashee Rice is facing some tough times ahead of the 2026 season.
The bad news keeps coming for Rashee Rice and the Kansas City Chiefs . Early on Tuesday, news broke that Rice would be headed to jail for 30 days after the star wideout violated the terms of his probation with a positive THC test. His punishment will be brutal, as he has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail, with June 16 set as the release date.
But it turns out that's not the only setback he's facing this offseason. Rice also reportedly had to undergo a clean-up surgery on his right knee to remove loose debris, which was causing inflammation, one week before being ordered to jail, and he is expected to be sidelined for two months due to the procedure. And while that means Rice will be back in action in time for the season, it also means he might not be in football shape or working out with the team as early as he needs to.

After Rice returned last year, he finished with 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns, but faced even more off-field drama as he was accused of domestic violence by his former partner and the mother of his two children. However, he faced no official punishment for the allegations.
