Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. Pittsburgh trailed 6-4 going into the top of the ninth, but the Pirates were able to rally to tie the game and forced extra innings. Yet, in the bottom of the 10th, after not scoring in the top-half, Ivan Herrera hit a three-run home run off Mason Montgomery to get a walk-off win, which was frustrating for the Pirates.

“I think we’re a little frustrated with the results, but you can’t get hung up on that,” Montgomery said postgame on Tuesday. “I think you’ve got to just keep working, keep focusing on what we need to focus on. Long season, so there’s plenty of time to get back on the saddle.

” Pirates manager Don Kelly, meanwhile, echoed Montgomery’s words as he knows Tuesday’s loss to the Cardinals was a tough one. "Tough, tough loss,” Kelly said. “To come back from (down) 3-0, go up 4-3, and then to come back in the ninth there and have a chance to win, obviously a tough, tough loss.
