Scotland suffer heavy ODI defeat by USA

Scotland suffered a heavy defeat by USA as their trip to Nepal in Cricket World Cup League 2 ended on a negative note. Richie Berrington's side were bundled out for just 169 after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Mark Watt top-scored with 66 as seven batters failed to reach double figures.

"The wicket was probably a little slower than we thought it would be," Berrington said. "We weren't at our best. The batting didn't quite fire.

A couple of guys put in good contributions, but there just wasn't enough support. "When you haven't got runs to play with, it was important to try to pick up early wickets. Unfortunately we didn't quite manage to do that and from there you're chasing the game.
