FC Twente looking to reunite Antwerp winger with Erik ten Hag As reported by HLN , FC Twente’s future Director of Football Erik ten Hag was in the stands yesterday to watch Genk draw 0-0 with Antwerp in the play-offs. The former Manchester United manager was keeping an eye on Gyrano Kerk, who he worked with previously at Utrecht. The Suriname international is set to be a free agent in the summer and FC Twente are one of the clubs interested in signing him.

Kerk came through at the Utrecht academy, making his first team debut as a teenager in 2014. After a loan spell with Helmond Sport for the 2015/2016 season, Kerk returned to become a key player for Utrecht. Over five seasons Kerk played 170 games for Utrecht, scoring 41 goals.

His form earned him a move to Lokomotiv Moscow, where he scored eight goals in 51 games. In January 2023 Kerk took advantage of the UEFA ruling that allowed players to leave Russia following the invasion of Ukraine, with Kerk joining Antwerp on loan for a season and a half. Kerk, while on loan, played 65 games for Antwerp and scored 10 goals.

The move was made permanent in the summer of 2024, with Kerk adding another 73 games and 16 goals to his Antwerp career figures. The past two seasons has seen Kerk at his best. During the 2024/2025 campaign he scored nine goals and provided six assists in 44 games, while this season he has seven goals and five assists in 28 games.
