7 seed TCU. The Utes opened the scoring in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run double from Jake Long. Cal Miller would single for Utah next to bring in another score, jumping out to a 3-0 lead.

K-State would respond in the sixth inning with a two-run blast from AJ Evasco. The Wildcats would then score three in the seventh with an RBI triple from Dee Kennedy, a single from Kyan Lodice and a sac-fly from Bear Madliak to give the Wildcats a 5-3 lead. Utah would pull one back with a solo home run from Luke Jacobs in the seventh followed by a sac-fly to tie the game at 5-5.
