Gear up for the 2026 KHSAA track and field state championships with a look at the top contenders for gold.
Even though the Kentucky boys high school volleyball tournament is already in the books, state championship season in the Bluegrass state really gets going this weekend. From May 21-23, the track and field state championships will be held at the University of Kentucky. There is plenty of talent from Northern Kentucky who will bring home a load of medals.
To preview the meet, let's take a look at the top contenders. All athletes and relay teams included have a top-five time, distance or height in their class in the state, according to MileSplit , regardless of their championship seed, which is based on regional results.
